Tonia is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada. A Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor in New Jersey, USA and a Clinical Psychologist in the Caribbean. She works with youth, teenagers, and adults facing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, racial trauma, substance abuse, domestic violence, and difficulties adjusting to transitions in their lives. Her approach relies on a strong relationship with her clients and exploring how our emotions impact our past and present experiences. She has extensive experience working with people of color and their families.

Tonia specializes in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Tonia’s philosophy is “Our emotions help us understand how we experience the world. Sometimes, maladaptive emotional responses stemming from childhood no longer serve us. We may also develop unhelpful ways of thinking about life that keep us feeling trapped. I help my clients increase their internal locus of control to achieve their goals.”

Sean loves educating youth. He has over 20 years’ experience as an educator and administrator. He founded his company (Awaken Genius) for schools to provide math tutoring programs and for families who opt to home-school their children. He loves creating rigorous curriculums such as math coaching and Awaken Genius, to build students self–awareness, proficiency and confidence in just 8-10 weeks or as required. Sean is contracted with Robinson Lloyd Resiliency group for academic services.

Dr. Gerard Hutchinson

Lead Psychiatrist
“Determined to make the world a better place”

Dr. Hutchinson is currently the Professor and Unit Lead in Psychiatry at the School of Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS), University of the West Indies, St Augustine. He also serves currently as the Coordinator of the post-graduate training programme in Psychiatry and is the current University Examiner in Psychiatry. He was previously the Program Director of the MSc Clinical Psychology. Additionally, he functions as the Head of Psychiatry and Mental Health Services at the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA), where he oversees and coordinates the in-patient and outpatient mental health services of the Stress Relief Centre and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic.

He is a graduate of St Mary’s College, the University of the West Indies, the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College, the University of London, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. His qualifications are Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery – MBBS – UWI, Doctor of Medicine Psychiatry UWI, Certificate of Training in NeuroPsychiatry – Kings College London, Master of Science in Psychiatric Epidemiology 2001- London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Master of Philosophy in Psychiatry – Kings’ College, and Specialist Register- Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago.

He is a co-Principal Investigator in the INTREPID project which is investigating first-episode psychosis in diverse settings (India, Nigeria, Trinidad) funded now by the Medical Research Council. He has authored or co-authored over 130 peer-reviewed academic publications and his published work has over 9900 citations. He is a member of the International Association of Suicide Prevention as well as the World Suicidology Network. He serves on the Research Advisory Committee of the Caribbean Public Health Agency and is a manuscript reviewer for several international journals. He functions as an Academic Editor as well as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for some of these journals.
